WHY? One of the key ways to make students aware of study abroad and promote study abroad events is through outreach materials such as fliers and posters. To support the expansion of study abroad, the Center for Global Education at Loyola Marymount University, with support from FIPSE: U.S. Department of Education, the IFSA Foundation, and the ISIC Card are sponsoring a study abroad poster competition. These posters should capture the interest of students by illustrating the study abroad experience, reflecting a diverse student population, and providing an interesting image or images of locations around the world where students can study abroad. HOW? The deadline to submit your poster is October 1st, 2008. As our hope is that these posters will be used at a U.S. college or university campus to promote study abroad, we ask that you submit your study abroad poster through your university or college’s study abroad office or study abroad provider. We will review posters by viewing them on the campus or study abroad provider’s website, which can help confirm that the poster is being used for outreach.
AWARDS? The 1st place winner will receive an STA Travel Voucher for $300, the 2nd place winner will receive an STA Travel Voucher for $150, and the 3rd place winner will receive an STA Travel Voucher for $50. The first 250 submitted posters that are accepted for sharing on the Poster Competition Website will receive a free ISIC or ITIC Card. These cards provide access to over 33,000 discounts in the U.S. and around the world, basic travel insurance and a globally recognized proof of student or teacher status (endorsed by UNESCO).
