AISES' own scholarship program was established in 1983 in memory of A.T. Anderson (Mohawk), a chemical engineer who founded AISES with six other American Indian scientists. Scholarships are awarded to members of AISES who are American Indian/Alaskan Native college students pursuing academic programs in the sciences, engineering, medicine, natural resources, and math.

Applicant must be a full-time student at the undergraduate or graduate level, attending an accredited 4-year college or university or a 2-year college leading to a 4year degree, a member of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society who can furnish proof of tribal enrollment and majoring in health sciences, engineering, science, natural resources, mathematics, business, or math and science secondary education.

Recipients are selected on the basis of academic achievement, leadership potential, financial need, and commitment to helping other American Indians.

The Association on American Indian Affairs offers Adolph Van Pelt Scholarships in the amount of $1,500 to undergraduate students in any curriculum. Disbursement in the amount of $750 is made directly to the college fall and spring semesters pending satisfactory progress. Spring disbursement requires a copy of the fall semester's grades and a spring semester class schedule. This scholarship does not automatically renew. Students are eligible to apply on a yearly basis.
Applicants must be Native American students interested in undergraduate or graduate education. Applications include an essay (1-2 pages) describing educational goals, a budget of educational costs and resources, a copy of a certificate of at least one-quarter Indian blood or of registration with a federally-recognized Indian tribe, and the most recent transcript.

All Indian Pueblo Council Scholarship Grant Program
Enrolled and verified members of the following Indian Pueblos: Cochiti, Jemez, Sandia, and Santa Ana. Applications must be accompanied by an official transcript of the last school attended (high school/college). IBM has a history of leading in innovation for more than 100 years and has led the world as the number one producer of patents that generate opportunities globally for growth in science and technology. Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Foundation Scholarship
Administered for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Foundation, this scholarship is made available to American Indian high school seniors every year, who reside in states serviced by the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Pacific Corporation and its affiliated companies: Arizona, California, Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, and Washington. The award is for 4 academic years (8 semesters) or until baccalaureate degree is obtained, whichever occurs first. Emilie Hesemeyer Memorial Scholarshipsseparatorseparator
The Association on American Indian Affairs offers Emilie Hesemeyer Memorial Scholarships in the amount of $1,500 with a preference given, but not limited to, students pursuing a Major in education. This scholarship is renewable up to four years toward any single degree pending satisfactory progress. Disbursement in the amount of $750 is made directly to the college fall and spring semesters pending satisfactory progress. Spring disbursement requires a copy of the fall semester's grades and a spring semester class schedule.

EPA Tribal Lands Environmental Science Scholarship
Applicants must be full-time juniors, seniors, or graduate students with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 majoring in biochemistry biology, chemical engineering, chemistry, environmental economics, environmental science, entomology, hydrology, or related environmental disciplines. *Certificate of Indian blood is not required, but applications must include a 250 word essay on the candidate's personal commitment to environmental protection on tribal lands and a brief statement explaining how and when knowledge of tribal culture was acquired. Award amount is $4,000 per year.

General Motors Engineering Scholarship
Established in 2002, in partnership with General Motors. Scholarships are awarded to members of AISES who are American Indian/Alaskan Native undergraduate or graduate students pursuing degrees in engineering. GM gives preference to electrical, industrial or mechanical engineering majors. Applicants who are not selected as recipients will be given consideration in the A.T. Anderson Memorial Scholarship program, if all criteria is met.

Knight-Ridder Scholarship for Native American Journalists
Native American students interested in pursuing a newspaper journalism career. Recipient must work as a paid intern during the summer at a Knight-Ridder newspaper, and is eligible to apply for other Knight-Ridder scholarships. Award amount is a $5,000 stipend.
