NATIVE AMERICAN STUDENTS
A.T. Anderson Memorial Scholarship
AISES' own scholarship program was established in 1983 in memory of A.T. Anderson (Mohawk), a chemical engineer who founded AISES with six other American Indian scientists. Scholarships are awarded to members of AISES who are American Indian/Alaskan Native college students pursuing academic programs in the sciences, engineering, medicine, natural resources, and math.
Applicant must be a full-time student at the undergraduate or graduate level, attending an accredited 4-year college or university or a 2-year college leading to a 4year degree, a member of the American Indian Science and Engineering Society who can furnish proof of tribal enrollment and majoring in health sciences, engineering, science, natural resources, mathematics, business, or math and science secondary education.
Recipients are selected on the basis of academic achievement, leadership potential, financial need, and commitment to helping other American Indians.
Undergraduates: $1000; Graduates: $2000

Adolph Van Pelt Special Fund for Indians Scholarships
The Association on American Indian Affairs offers Adolph Van Pelt Scholarships in the amount of $1,500 to undergraduate students in any curriculum. Disbursement in the amount of $750 is made directly to the college fall and spring semesters pending satisfactory progress. Spring disbursement requires a copy of the fall semester's grades and a spring semester class schedule. This scholarship does not automatically renew. Students are eligible to apply on a yearly basis.
Applicants must be Native American students interested in undergraduate or graduate education. Applications include an essay (1-2 pages) describing educational goals, a budget of educational costs and resources, a copy of a certificate of at least one-quarter Indian blood or of registration with a federally-recognized Indian tribe, and the most recent transcript.

All Indian Pueblo Council Scholarship Grant Program
Enrolled and verified members of the following Indian Pueblos: Cochiti, Jemez, Sandia, and Santa Ana. Applications must be accompanied by an official transcript of the last school attended (high school/college). A letter of admission from an accredited college or university, 2 letters of recommendation, a certificate of Indian blood, a certificate of tribal verification, and a copy of the student's eligibility for a federal Pell Grant that shows financial need and that the applicant has exhausted all other possible sources of aid. Deadlines are February for the summer/fall terms and October for the spring term. Award amount varies.

American Indian Science and Engineering Society IBM Scholarship

Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Foundation Scholarship
Administered for the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Foundation, this scholarship is made available to American Indian high school seniors every year, who reside in states serviced by the Burlington Northern and Santa Fe Pacific Corporation and its affiliated companies: Arizona, California, Colorado, Kansas, Minnesota, Montana, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, and Washington. The award is for 4 academic years (8 semesters) or until baccalaureate degree is obtained, whichever occurs first. Applicants who are not selected as recipients will be given consideration in the A.T. Anderson Memorial Scholarship program, if all criteria is met. Eligible majors include business, engineering, math, medicine/health administration, natural/physical sciences, technology and education.

Chief Manuelito Scholarship Program
Enrolled members of the Navajo Nation are eligible to apply if they are graduating high school seniors planning to attend an accredited college or university. Selection is based solely upon college entrance test scores and high school grade point average. EPA Tribal Lands Environmental Science Scholarship
Applicants must be full-time juniors, seniors, or graduate students with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 majoring in biochemistry biology, chemical engineering, chemistry, environmental economics, environmental science, entomology, hydrology, or related environmental disciplines. *Certificate of Indian blood is not required, but applications must include a 250 word essay on the candidate's personal commitment to environmental protection on tribal lands and a brief statement explaining how and when knowledge of tribal culture was acquired. Award amount is $4,000 per year.

General Motors Engineering Scholarship
Established in 2002, in partnership with General Motors. Scholarships are awarded to members of AISES who are American Indian/Alaskan Native undergraduate or graduate students pursuing degrees in engineering.
